Happy Thanksgiving!

For any of you who remember last year's post, I clearly have no problem displaying my poor upper body strength to all of you. I can lift pounds of clothing all day, but not poultry.

In any case, I want to say that I am thankful for my readers and followers for your awesomeness this past year and a half. I couldn't do this without your support. Have a great turkey/tofurkey day!

So I Got This New Jacket...

...and I'm doing my happy dance.
This tropical number is from NastyGal.com. I ordered it a couple of weeks ago from Shop It To Me and I've been waiting to share it with all of you.

The jacket is my homage to Saved By the Bell - the washed out blues and pinks give it a worn-in, old school look and it is UH-dorable. I mean ya'll, come on. The vintage dress is from Anna Banana's, my go-to, as I am their Digital Diva of all things Facebook-related.
Anywho, I ordered it small so I could layer it underneath a larger, warmer jacket. Buttoned up it fits like a shirt, but unbuttoned it's a fun alternative to a sweater. I should also add that I didn't break the bank on this little number, it was $50 with shipping. Fresh, affordable, and made in the U.S.A?! It's what 'murica is all about, people!

Paired with it I chose a ring from Lucky Penny. Looks a little bit like rock candy, and it's shiny. And I love shiny. The gloves are from French Connection and the necklace is from Ivy and Leo in Charlotte. Bracelet is from Nordstrom.

There are a gazillion ways to wear printed denim with black pants, and yes, I am suggesting you update the Canadian tuxedo of denim on denim. It's no different from a printed shirt save for the textiles used. If you're thinking "WHOA, Meg, this is like, way too intense for me right now, you are like, crazy," then calm down and try a printed short with tights or even just a colored jean. The take-home-and-save-for-tomorrow's-breakfast message of all this is think outside the box!

A Little Gift From Shop It To Me

Some of you may have already heard me gush about this, but I'm excited about my git from Shop It To Me

At the PRSSA National Conference, founder and CEO of the online shopping site Charlie Graham gave a great lecture on start-up businesses and the world of fashion PR. Looking forward to today's speakers.

And yes, I am in San Francisco! We got to the bridge a little later, so the lights made me look drenched in green. It's beautiful out here and I'll be sharing more pictures with you soon.

A Wedding Weekend

Amelia

Amelia and I worked at BeansTalk back in the day, and her wedding to the wonderful owner of that shop, Wil, was this weekend in Andrews, NC. Even beyond her stunning wedding dress, Amelia has a style that speaks to punky-retro hearts all over. I'm so happy I could be a witness to my friends' special day. Congratulations!

Tall boots, blue sweater

Kelly Mo
I work with Kelly at Anna Banana's and every time I see her, she's always wearing a unique outfit. She plays around with accessories in a way few people can pull off.

A Look From My Closet

I've been asked why I don't post pictures of my style recently, and I thought since it's Fashion Week in New York I'd give it a go.
The scarf is McQ by Alexander McQueen. The shirt is from Lucky Penny.
These Miu Miu glitter sandals are my life right now. I got them for a steal at Anna Banana's. They're highly impractical (4-inches, exactly). My roommates laugh when they see me walking around the apartment trying to break them in!
I usually grab this J Crew bag first when I'm going out at night. It fits more than just a stick of gum and a debit card. The bracelets are a mix of H&M and from my mom's closet.

I'll try to do these posts more often, it was fun!
Enjoy the weather!
